A pillar of territorial economic development, freight transport is a significant cause of greenhouse gas emissions.
Decarbonizing freight is therefore emerging as a key structural issue to reconcile economic dynamism, ecological transition and local resilience.
Faced with the necessary transformation of economic and planning policies, how should action be prioritized? Through feedback from experience and forward-looking work, this section aims to shed light on the choices of local authorities at the dawn of the new term.
How can the freight sector take local socio-ecological issues into account? How can change be driven in a context of budgetary constraints?
The debate will be moderated by France Villes et Territoires Durables (France Sustainable Cities and Territories). This association coordinates "CAP Territoires Durables" (Sustainable Territories), the free platform that provides essential benchmarks to support local assessments and strengthen territorial resilience!
It will bring together the Shift Project, which has just published its report “Water, soil, biomass, energy: Planning decarbonization through local resources”, the EDF group, a key player in the decarbonization of the local economy and committed to the electrification of freight, as well as Patrice Vergriete, President of the Dunkirk Urban Community, a leading figure in reindustrialization.
