Information
In the heart of Dijon's historic center, the Museum of Fine Arts perfectly illustrates the contemporary challenge of reconciling heritage enhancement, conservation requirements for works of art and energy performance.
With nearly 300,000 visitors per year and 136,000 works preserved, of which more than 1,300 are on display, this exceptional site embodies both a historical heritage and a high-precision technical laboratory.
Through an immersive visit, discover the technical inner workings of an iconic building that has undergone an ambitious €60 million renovation over nearly 17 years, notably increasing the number of exhibition rooms from 24 to 43.
This transformation is accompanied by a particularly demanding energy and climate infrastructure, integrating 36 air handling units, a boiler room, chilled water production facilities and a fine centralized technical management, shared between the museum teams and those of the metropolis.
This visit will highlight the specific challenges related to the conservation of works (temperature, humidity, climate stability), while illustrating how territorial energy policies can adapt to complex, sensitive and highly constrained buildings.
