Tram, bus, energy: an immersion into the unique site of the André Gervais Workshops

Information

The André Gervais Workshops - DiviaMobilités operation and maintenance center of Dijon metropolitan area.
This 12-hectare site, unique in France, brings together in one place the company's headquarters, maintenance workshops, and also the storage of vehicles when they are not in service.
During the visit, visitors will tour the Maintenance workshops, dedicated to the repair and general upkeep of buses and trams, as well as the tram depot, unique in its historical and architectural significance. They will also discover the environmental advantages of this site, built in 2012 according to European specifications aimed at controlling and improving energy management.
Keolis Dijon Multimodalité, operator of the DiviaMobilités network on behalf of Dijon Métropole, places the energy transition at the heart of its operations. Together with the Transport Authority, the company is accelerating the development of a sustainable, low-carbon transport network. To realize this ambition, Keolis Dijon Multimodalité is co-developing an operational roadmap to further decarbonize the Dijon metropolitan area's vehicle fleet. This strategy is based on:
  • the deployment of electric vehicle charging infrastructure and clean power equipment, enabling a reliable electricity supply
  • the purchase of low and very low emission rolling stock
  • the implementation of smart charging management to optimize the use of the electricity grid and limit consumption peaks
To date, the DiviaMobilités network combines performance and energy transition: 102 hybrid buses, 5 fully electric shuttles serving the city center, and 33 tram sets. These resources are complemented by actions aimed at reducing the overall footprint (driver training in eco-driving, optimization of transport plans).
Several key projects support the low-carbon objective:
  • CAPATRAM: technical improvements in 5 strategic areas to increase capacity on tram lines T1 and T2 — expected gains in 2026: +20% (T1) and +12% (T2) at peak times, allowing a significant modal shift from car to tram.
  • Project for a 3rd tram line: extension of the network to support the increase in demand for mobility, strengthen the supply of public transport and contribute sustainably to the decarbonization of metropolitan travel.

ATTENTION: Please arrive on site by 9:00 AM.

ACCESS BY BUS and TRAM: Locate the " Carraz " stop on lines T2, B14 or B15.
Go down there and take line F45 located on rue Alexandre Dumas towards " Ateliers ".
Get off at the end of the line, in front of the André Gervais Workshops.
