Sorting biowaste at the source is now emerging as a major lever for reducing our waste and producing local and renewable energy.
In Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, local authorities are accelerating their mobilization and the first regional results show a clearly progressing dynamic, driven by concrete initiatives on the ground.
The Greater Belfort area exemplifies this progress : by implementing separate collection of biowaste for residents, it has significantly reduced the volume of residual household waste. User feedback confirms a rapid adoption of sorting practices, supported by local guidance.
These collected bio-waste products are then processed by AGRIVALOR Energie, which receives the waste at its unit, unpacks the products if necessary before treating them in methanization in order to generate green electricity, green heat and digestate (natural fertilizer).
This loop demonstrates the energy potential of a resource long considered a waste product.
Don't hesitate to come and meet these speakers during this workshop and share your feedback.
