An educational tool to understand the complexity of heat networks, to experiment with the trade-offs between technology, finance and acceptability, and to strengthen cooperation around a concrete energy transition project.
Dive into an immersive and collaborative serious game dedicated to the development of a renewable heat network, with a focus on aquathermics (AQE), on a fictional territory… but more realistic than it seems.
Working as a team, you will play the roles of stakeholders in a project and follow all the key stages: identifying connectable buildings, estimating energy needs, designing the network layout, making technical choices, contracting with subscribers, and calculating the cost of heat. You will have to build a model that is coherent, efficient, and attractive.
The game is punctuated by "event" cards and a die that introduce both hazards and opportunities: fluctuating energy prices, administrative delays, regulatory changes, funding bonuses, local opposition, or favorable weather conditions. It's up to you to adapt your strategy and make collective decisions in the face of uncertainty.
Objective: to design a technically viable, economically balanced and sufficiently convincing network to engage users, while staying on course in the face of unforeseen events.
