Employment and skills are at the intersection of climate transition, economic development, and social cohesion policies. Within the framework of the European JETCITIES project, five French cities and metropolitan areas—Marseille, Lyon, Paris, Grenoble Alpes Métropole, and Dijon Métropole—have examined the issue of employment and skills, which are central to the challenges of achieving a just transition.
What impact will our decarbonization policies have on local economic development? Can the ecological transition be an opportunity to promote the integration of people far removed from employment? How can we anticipate the transformation of jobs related to the climate transition in local communities?
What role do local authorities play alongside the regions and the State in addressing these issues?
